February and March 2024 Assemblies

We were so busy with Cinderella and Rockerfella that we didn't even have time for our February Assembly so we had to have a bumper double assembly in March instead!

Don't worry, all of our Writers of the Month, Mathematicians of the Month, Kindness Award winners and our Class of the Month got due recognition albeit somewhat belatedly. Well done to all and keep up the good work.

Lá Glas

I rith Seachtain na Gaeilge bhí 'Lá Glas' againn ar scoil. Chaith na páistí agus na múinteoirí eadaí glasa agus bhí cluichí,spórt agus spraoí ag gach duine an lá go léir. Bhí Tráth na gCeist mór ar súil freisin agus fuair na buaiteoirí uibheacha Cásca.

Community Games

Well done to all our students who entered the Community Games Art and Handwriting competitions recently. Pictured below are our medal winners. Congratulations to all and best of luck to those representing Ballingarry in the County Finals.

Aistear

The children in Mrs Egan's class really enjoy their Aistear, where, (amongst other things), they get to learn through play.

That's St Patrick in the bottom picture, bagging up a few snakes, just in case you weren't too sure!

GAA Equipment

Every year the wonderful people in Tipperary Cumann na mBunscol make GAA equipment available to schools at subsidised prices. An order form has been sent home with the children but if it gets lost then you can access another one by clicking the link below and printing it out.

GAA Equipment Order Form

Please return the form and the correct payment in an envelope with your child's name on it to the school, on or before Friday February 23rd.

How to choose the correct size of hurley for your child.

1. The child stands naturally and relaxed with their hands down by their sides.
2. The the top of the hurley should come up to the child's wrist.
3. The child should be able to hold the hurley at the top and the hurley should be just touching the ground.
4. If the child is between sizes it is better to have the hurley too small than too big.
5. If the child can use the hurley like a sword then it is the correct weight.
